It’s based on a sophisticated combination of gin and maraschino cherry liqueur, with a splash of crème de violette for its perfume. Ingredients

  • 25 ml gin
  • 10 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp maraschino liqueur
  • Dash crème de violette
  • Well-chilled Champagne, to top up
  • Maraschino cherry, to garnish

Instructions

Pour the first four ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and stir well.

Strain into a chilled Champagne coupe and top up with Champagne. Garnish with a maraschino cherry on a stainless-steel cocktail stick and serve.
